Summer 2012

Journal Entry: Sat Dec 8, 2012, 2:37 AM
As the snow keeps piling up in front of my window, I can't think of a better escape than a reminder of a summer bygone... In case you feel the same, I'm sharing with you a film we shot during the summer.

Wow! That was a lot of text. Very enlightening though.

I myself have desided to simply leave the manipulations unmentioned, or if a group submission require it, just list all the post process done to the photo.

I tend to get easily frustrated with Vuescan, so I just try to get my photos quickly to Lightroom and then alter the photos to the condition I wanted the photos to look when I took them.

i got a lot of frustration from vuescan as well, i know what you mean. luckily i had nikonscan to revert to. the only reason why i considered it in the first place was it's ability to colorcorrect many emulsions, but it was useless with xproc films and completely useless later when i figured out how to color balance negatives manually.

i often get asked about manipulations in comments (at least before in the time when there were more comments around dA), especially about crossprocessed shots, so i started just stating it under shots which weren't manipulated. and besides, it's something i like to see under other shots (if that's the case)... to appreciate the photographer's techique he used to get such results (like filters or different chemicals etc.)

Wow that is a great compliment. Thank you again. I hate to sound pretentious or full of myself but I guess I can somewhat avoid that with being a bit vague and saying that I wish that there was a lot more film photography and creative photography in general on this site. Then again, my frustation with much of the art that I see is definitely of the things that pushes me to try to be more creative myself and to try new things. I can't wait to get my driver's license back so that I can go to this museum in Massachusetts that I found out about which is The Museum of Bad Art. I like to think that it will be a good source of inspiration to do better and of course good for a laugh.

i guess we share our wishes. it's just that i'm 15000 miles away from this museum in Massachusetts.
looking forward to more of your uploads (:
