"This is a Central Line train to Hainault via Newbury Park." It's etched in my memory.

fuji sensia 400 rated as 200 cross processed.
20mm f/2.8 at 1/8s handheld.
full frame, no manipulations.

A few of my favorite picks, cross-processed shots from London...

Daily Deviationcentral line by `blushark Gotta love cross processing. The eerie glow is just fascinating, and the emptiness of the train car gives me the feeling that these people will soon reach the end of the line, and be off to their homes, or just on to start their night at work.. I love, absolutely love how you make the reds pop!
Its amazing, look at that guy's shoes!! They pop as much as the handle bars.
GOOD stuff!

yeah, crossing fuji RH slides does render reds more saturated and gives overall green cast, this shot is perfect example.
thanks for the comment, you made my day (:
I've never done any cross processing, how do you choose which colors you want to pop, and which colors to augment? Or what effects to expect?

well you've got three basic variables: film, development chemicals and exposure (there are also light temperature, scanner etc.). a slight modification in each will produce vastly different results regarding color shifts, contrasts and overall atmosphere.
so you need a huge experience to be able to predict results.

for example, fuji sensia 400 (RH) in kodak c-41 exposed at +0EV will produce green and yellow casts with moderate contrasts. same slide in fuji c-41 chemicals exposed at +1EV will give more of red and green hues in the shot (this shot for example) with reasonable contrast.
velvia 100 and sensia 100 in kodak developer exposed at +1EV on strong sunlight will give extreme red and yellow coloration and strong contrast.
kodak ektachrome 400x in fuji chemicals exposed at +0EV will give dull desaturated colors and dark overall tones with extreme contrast.
agfa precisa 100 in fuji chemicals exposed at +0-1EV will give very strong contrast with strong blue cast.... etc.

so it's all experience, you can predict nothing until you try it at least twice in all conditions. but man is it fun! :D
well... ty!
